Join RAC Insurance as a Risk & Compliance Specialist, where you'll play a key role in safeguarding our members by ensuring effective risk management. This is a newly created role within our Product & Sales team.
About the Role
As a Risk & Compliance Specialist, you will be working within cross-functional environments, responsible for coordinating assigned incidents related to regulatory compliance matters and support action close-out under the reporting regime to deliver exceptional member experience, compliance, and ongoing improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Supporting the coordination of incident investigation for completeness and accuracy, including root cause analysis and providing recommendations or solutions to prevent further incident occurrence

Consulting with operational teams, Incident Owners, Risk & Compliance, and Legal as required
-
Guiding the scope of any data collation for investigation/remediation/rectification
-
Reviewing and analysing data to ensure it is fit for purpose
-
Creating adequate actions to rectify incidents in scope and prevent/reduce recurrence, including but not limited to document, process, coaching, system changes
-
Supporting remediation and rectification activities as required by Incident Owners

Supporting and contributing to maturing the risk culture and capability across Insurance
-
Assist the Compliance & Assurance Lead in operational effectiveness testing for identified key controls. Ensure that control objectives and testing steps are clear.

Additional duties to support the business as reasonably required
What we are looking for:

Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a regulated environment

Exposure to compliance, regulations and quality assurance

Ability to collaborate effectively and influence relationships with varied internal stakeholders
-
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to consider critical business needs
-
Proactive project, risk management and problem-solving skills
-
Proven resilience in handling difficult conversations with stakeholders at all levels
-
Ability to operate effectively in a values/behaviours based organisation
-
Broad knowledge of insurance industry practices and the regulatory environment is desirable
-
Experience assessing control effectiveness through testing and monitoring programs is desirable
