Duties include review and analysis of event reports and other data to identify trends and opportunities for risk reduction and performance improvement across the enterprise.

Identifies preventable versus non preventable outcomes through safety event classification, prepares reports on risk/patient safety trends for the enterprise and assists in monitoring of action plans associated with cause analysis activities, including root cause analysis.

Provides assistance during investigation of safety events, operations support for SFMZ program and other departmental initiatives.
-
Serves as a liaison for the department on hospital wide committees.

Provides support in performance of cause analysis activities, including apparent cause analysis, root cause analysis, failure modes and effects analysis and common cause analysis.

Assists in communication of risk management and patient safety activity across the enterprise.

Acts as a coach to colleagues in Safety First Mission Zero program, patient safety concepts and skills across the enterprise and produces/assists in the production of committee meeting minutes, reports, educational content for enterprise, dashboards and data entry into applicable software systems in use by the department.

Supports operations in department in accordance with overall hospital strategies, policies and procedures.

This position works collaboratively with internal teams to integrate, evaluate and implement the impact of information on the development of safe practices throughout the organization and achieving high reliability in healthcare.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree required, healthcare related field preferred OR Master’s Degree with relevant experience.

3 years of recent clinical experience in the acute care setting as a healthcare professional or equivalent combination of education and experience
-
Prior experience in risk management/quality in the healthcare setting preferred.

Knowledge of medico-legal matters, risk management/patient safety programs preferred. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, interpersonal, and facilitation skills

Computer proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
-
Ability to work with minimal supervision and to interact well with all levels of employees and physicians throughout the organization.
-
Collaborative and multitasking skills. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to do report writing, meeting minutes, and update/change/make project plans.

Flexibility regarding work schedule

Position requires to be onsite.

Computer proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
CPHRM or CPPS required or must be obtained within 2 years of hire date.
RN or another clinical licensure preferred

Salary Range:
$70.84 - $106.26 USD Hourly
