Risk & Fraud Manager

Adyen is looking for an ambitious Risk Management professional to join our India team. As part of the team in India you will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing risk management strategies to mitigate fraud, ensure regulatory compliance and maintain merchant and acquirer risks. As a Risk Manager you will be responsible for identifying, investigating, and preventing fraudulent activities related to our merchants and acquiring. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining the integrity of our platform and ensuring a secure and trustworthy environment for our users.

This position serves as a transaction fraud and monitoring and prevention subject matter expert at Adyen, creates and owns risk projects, helps customers create risk strategy, and helps improve our risk solution offering. This role also encompasses analysis on transaction data, communication with networks and partners, and represents risk on company wide initiatives.


 

 

What you’ll do

  • Have a strong understanding of various aspects of risk management including shopper risk, acquiring risk and scheme compliance at Adyen and act as a stakeholder on operational aspects of risk management functions.
  • Responsible for understanding scheme rules, RBI regulations and internal procedures that affect (Scheme) risk, fraud and dispute management. Liaising with external stakeholders and partners regarding risk compliance programs and products.
  • Work closely together with our merchants, account managers, networks, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Take ownership in improving the fraud and chargeback monitoring processes and drive operational improvements.
  • Help drive effective fraud and chargeback strategies for customers and act as a risk subject-matter expert to external and internal teams.
  • Drive reporting and insights regarding chargebacks and fraud and present data to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to generate platform enhancements that can assist in fraud prevention and mitigation driven regional requirements from partners and regulatory.
  • Collaborate with networks and partners to build out Adyen’s scheme operations and compliance programs (e.g. Fraud & Dispute program, Brand Protection Program) 
  • Monitor and investigate transaction patterns, account activity, and user behavior patterns to detect and mitigate fraudulent activity or merchant insolvency in real-time.
  • Manage data security incidents and non-compliance notifications from the network/partners together with internal stakeholders.  
  • This role is based out of our Mumbai office.
  • This is a full-time position with the ability to work a minimum of 40 hours/week.

Who you are

  • 7-10 years of experience working in payments risk with a strong knowledge of acquiring risk and responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of payments fraud, dispute processes, scheme rules and payments regulatory landscape, preferably in RBI/IRDAI/SEBI regulated entities, in India. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate the importance of the risk management internally and externally
  • You are able to work both on your own and with others, taking ownership where your knowledge is needed. At the same time you are a strong collaborator who is comfortable with connecting with colleagues across different teams and cultures, sharing ideas to improve efficient teamwork.
  • High level of self-motivation and always looking for ways to improve and make our processes more efficient
  • Advanced data analytical skills
  • You have full professional proficiency (written and verbal) in English.
  • Bonus points if you have experience creating impactful dashboards using BI tools (such as Looker)
