Wells Fargo is seeking a Risk Analytics Consultant to join the Capital Markets Accounting Operations group (CMAO) in the Controllers Division of Corporate Finance, which is responsible for the settlement, clearing, custody, accounting and regulatory reporting for securities within the available-for-sale and held-to-maturity investment portfolios, as well as the Wells Fargo funding products (debt). CMAO is responsible for the maintenance, control and data integrity of the related accounting systems of record. This Risk Analytics Consultant role is a member of the CMAO Systems Team. This team is responsible for executing projects to improve the effectiveness of the finance systems used within CMAO. Projects may include legacy platform replacements, new product development, and technology upgrades. The Risk Analytics Consultant is expected to understand and act upon the system workflows and business processes to support such initiatives.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in less complex analysis and modeling initiatives, and identify opportunities for process, production, data reconciliation, and model documentation improvements within Risk Management
- Review and analyze programming models to extract data, and manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling, and exercise independent judgment to guide new and existing projects with medium risk deliverables
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports for management, or to support internal or external Audit requests
- Present recommendations for resolving data reconciliation, production, and database issues
- Exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in policy compliance, governance and oversight, risk management, project management, and regulatory requests
- Collaborate and consult with peers, managers, executive management, compliance teams, and business partners in other lines of business
- Participate and/or lead the business-side efforts in issue management, new product development or other software application development work
- Assist senior CMAO consultants in project coordination and related tasks to support CMAO project initiatives
- Support and/or lead the adherence to enterprise Data Management and SDLC policies
- Draft and maintain project-related documents (i.e. user stories) for application initiatives, including upgrades, patches, new functionality, change in accounting guidance
- Actively participate in unit, functional, system integration, and user-acceptance testing project phases
- Support production functions as back-up when necessary
- 2+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Analytics, or Reporting
- Knowledge of Capital Markets products
- Knowledge of SWIFT payment workflows and securities settlement processes
- Experience with Agile processes, particularly as a Product Owner for Scrum and Kanban Teams
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), advanced Excel skills are preferred; data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and emerging AI technologies
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule from one of our Charlotte, NC, Minneapolis, MN or Irving, TX locations.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
