Department Summary
Surpassing network limitations of the past, our Wireless Development organization is building the country's first cloud-native, standalone 5G wireless network. This is the foundation of a connected world flexible enough to satisfy all the social, economic and transformative needs of today and the future.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview, which may include a live whiteboarding or technical assessment session.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead RF design activities for 5G ORAN macro and small cell networks, including RFDS creation, PCI planning, site selection, and propagation modeling.
- Collaborate with national teams to test and implement new RAN features and optimize RAN database parameters.
- Determine equipment, power configurations, and cloud-based DU/CU dimensioning for 5G networks.
- Work with eNB/RAN and UE teams to refine RF link budgets and meet operational requirements.
- Utilize RF optimization techniques to balance traffic, enhance QoS, analyze neighbor relations, and improve KPIs.
- Perform network audits, monitor KPIs, troubleshoot issues, and support customer satisfaction improvements.

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- BSEE/BSCS and at least 5 years of relevant RF performance and optimization on 5G/LTE working experience, and 3+ years' work experience on 5G/LTE KPI Monitoring and Optimization required, preferably with or supporting a major wireless carrier or OEM
Skills and Qualifications:
- Subject Matter Expert on Samsung's USM tool with at least 2 years of experience.
- Expertise in 5G RF Cluster Optimization, including Layer 3 messaging analysis for complex multi-band scenarios.
- Proficient in UE log collection and post-processing for network performance analysis.
- Strong knowledge of network design, link budget calculations, and propagation model tuning.
- Experienced in CIQ planning for O-RAN networks and reviewing construction drawings.
- Skilled in GPL implementation, software upgrade monitoring, and nighttime maintenance activities.
- Ability to maintain driving eligibility under company motor vehicle policies.

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $83,260.00/Year - $118,910.00/Year
