About this opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Radio Frequency (RF) Designer to join our team and lead wireless network design across 2G/4G/5G technologies. In this role you will ensure network coverage, capacity and quality through design, dimensioning, link budget analysis and propagation modeling. You will provide technical leadership, support hardware selection, and work with internal teams and customers to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions that meet regulatory and performance requirements.
What you will do
- Design and plan wireless networks (2G/4G/5G) focusing on coverage, capacity and quality of experience.
- Perform network dimensioning: estimate cells/sites/sectors and forecast radio resources based on traffic and growth.
- Carry out link budget calculations and optimize designs for different environments (urban, suburban, rural, indoor).
- Apply and validate propagation models (e.g., Hata, COST-231, Okumura or tailored models) to inform site placement, antenna height and azimuth.
- Use RF design tools (Atoll, Planet, Mentum or equivalent) for simulation, coverage prediction, interference analysis and reporting.
- Specify and dimension RF hardware (antennas, amplifiers, TRXs, RRUs, power supplies) in line with design requirements and coordinate with procurement/deployment.
- Tune parameters and analyze KPIs to improve network performance; use drive test and field data to refine models.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff and collaborate with planning, RAN engineering, field operations and other teams during rollout and troubleshooting.
- Interface with customers to gather requirements, present design proposals and ensure solutions align with business and regulatory needs.
- Keep up to date with wireless industry developments (including 5G features, network slicing and IoT) and incorporate best practices.
You will bring
- +10 years experience in RF design and optimization for mobile networks (2G/4G/5G).
- Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications or related field; master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in dimensioning, link budget analysis, propagation modeling and hardware specification.
- Proficiency with RF design and planning tools (Atoll, Planet, Mentum or similar).
- Practical knowledge of propagation models (Hata, COST-231, Okumura etc.) and experience with drive test / optimization tools.
- Familiarity with RAN technologies (GSM, LTE, 5G NR) and regulatory/spectrum considerations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills; able to make data-driven decisions.
- Effective communicator with experience presenting technical concepts to customers and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor others and to manage multiple projects to delivery.
