Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs approximately 114,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration, and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products, and services. Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is one of four Lockheed Martin business areas. We are growing rapidly and seeking to hire a Systems Integration & Test Engineer for our Grand Prairie, TX site.
The RF Calibration Test Engineer (E2) will support developmental calibration testing of RF sensors in anechoic chambers and outdoor test ranges. The engineer will prepare RF test setups, execute calibration procedures, analyze measurement data, and document results using established methods. This role applies RF/microwave, antenna, propagation, and radar signal processing concepts to problems of moderate scope and complexity, with periodic review of technical judgment, measurement accuracy, and work quality.
Core Responsibilities
• Develop assigned portions of calibration procedures and test documentation using established methods and requirements.
• Prepare chamber and outdoor range test configurations, including RF connections, instrumentation settings, and test article setup.
• Verify equipment calibration status and perform prescribed reference measurements and setup checks.
• Operate vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and related RF equipment to collect sensor calibration data.
• Execute approved calibration procedures and document test conditions, reference settings, and as-run configurations.
• Use MATLAB, Python, or comparable tools to reduce, analyze, and visualize measurement data and support test automation.
• Evaluate results against established data quality criteria, identify inconsistent measurements, and troubleshoot issues of moderate complexity.
• Work with experienced engineers to investigate calibration anomalies and perform approved corrective actions and repeat measurements.
• Prepare assigned calibration data products and reports for review and maintain traceable measurement and configuration records.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• 1+ years of related experience in RF testing, antenna measurements, calibration, or RF/microwave laboratory work.
• Working knowledge of RF/microwave principles, antenna theory, propagation, and radar signal processing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with RF test equipment such as vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers and knowledge of calibration practices.
• Experience using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools for measurement data analysis or automation.
• Ability to execute and develop test procedures, document results, and solve moderately complex measurement problems with periodic review.
• Ability to work effectively with RF, systems, and laboratory engineering personnel.
• Interim Clearance is needed to start, therefore you must be a US Citizen.
• Experience supporting measurements in an anechoic chamber or outdoor RF range.
• Familiarity with RF path characterization, amplitude/phase measurements, or antenna pattern measurements.
• Understanding of measurement repeatability, uncertainty, and calibration traceability.
• Experience with instrument-control scripts, automated data collection, and technical plotting.
• Familiarity with test configuration management, laboratory safety, and RF measurement troubleshooting.
