Your Team:
PTC is undergoing a transformation to transition our business into a best-in-class subscription company with cloud-based and on-premise offerings. This is taking place at the same time as the adoption of new revenue recognition guidance and the emergence of revenue accounting automation systems. The Revenue Assurance team is responsible for navigating the complexities associated with our transition to a new business model, the adoption of new regulatory rules and the revenue impact over deal review, ensuring that our systems recognize revenue properly and the accounting treatment is in accordance with US GAAP. We are a highly motivated, high performing multi-national organization with team members in the US, Europe and Asia.
Your Impact:
In this role, you will be a part of the PTC Revenue Assurance team reporting to the Revenue Assurance Manager. The successful candidate will be a contributor to many departmental objectives. You will regularly interact with multiple business functions and you will work closely with colleagues across the organization to understand both revenue recognition complexities and various financial analyses. Ideal candidates will be action-oriented and enjoy working in a fast- paced environment where multi-tasking ability, problem solving, strong communication and collaboration skills are a must.
Your Day-To-Day:
- Interact with Deal Desk, Legal, Customer Operations and Sales during contract negotiations to address non-standard deal modelling, understanding different deal structures and identify facts that might impact revenue recognition and reporting;
- Perform contract reviews for revenue related contracts by applying related accounting guidance to determine the accounting treatment under ASC606 and document the accounting conclusions;
- Review, recalculate, and analyze the accounting of revenue contracts in the revenue accounting system and communicate any required adjustments and/or revenue judgements to the Revenue Accounting team
- Proactively identify issues and process improvement opportunities, recommend solutions, and where appropriate, work with business partners and management to resolve or assist with implementation to improve efficiency.
- Create process and procedure documents.
- Execute Sox controls and prepare related documentation for management review.
- Perform revenue recognition accounting research, respond to international finance teams, business leaders and management queries and assist with ad hoc projects.
- Coordinate and assist with the preparation of documentation to respond to internal and external audit queries for corporate quarterly and annual audits to ensure auditors are receiving required information in an accurate and timely manner.
Your Skills and Knowledge:
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting, finance or related field (Public Accounting firm experience a plus)
- Knowledge of ASC 606 Accounting standard or IFRS 15 is a plus
- Ability to conduct research of accounting literature for compliance under U.S. GAAP
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated expertise working independently on projects, applying judgment and propose solutions for complex accounting issues.
- Good communication skills: experience working across departments and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner;
- Demonstrated expertise utilizing various systems and Microsoft Office to perform complex analysis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Intellectual curiosity and creativity
Great English language skills, French or Italian language skills are a plus.
