Description

Location: Cambridge, UK (hybrid) with travel to the office twice per week.

We are seeking a data-driven problem solver with strong analytical expertise.

This role is right for you if you excel at identifying trends and variances and recommending actionable strategies to optimise revenue performance, including actions to safeguard revenue and implement anti-fraud strategies. You're adept at building complex financial models to support strategic pricing decisions and long- term planning while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including data science, pricing and executive producers.

With a proactive approach to data analysis, monitoring budgets and forecasts, you’ll help identify risks, prevent revenue loss, and ensure alignment with company objectives. Your ability to present clear, impactful insights to senior leadership and continuously improve revenue reporting will be key to propelling transparency, accountability, and top line performance.

What you'll be doing:

  • Be responsible for the calculation and in depth analysis of ARPU, monitoring performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed. 
  • Be responsible for monitoring performance of subscription numbers (and other cohort data) against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed. 
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models (including Tableau dashboards) to support strategic pricing decision-making, long-term planning and accountability for ARPU and subscription performance. 
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of key revenue metrics, trends, financial impact assessments and performance drivers, (including chargebacks and fraud incidences) presenting findings to senior leadership for strategic discussions. 
  • Provide ARPU and subscription numbers assumptions into the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with company objectives and providing guidance to senior management. 
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement, transparency and efficiency in financial reporting processes and systems, through identifying automation opportunities across all areas of the P&L. 
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and law enforcement when required, bringing best practice knowledge back to inform Jagex policy. 
  • Act as a business partner to and collaborate closely with: 
    • Work closely with Fraud team to develop and oversee implementation of risk controls to minimize fraud risk and ensure compliance with local and international gaming regulations, anti-money laundering (AML) laws, and responsible gaming policies.   
    • The Head of Pricing and data science team and execute pricing strategies, offering financial expertise, scenario analysis and recommendations to drive ARPU growth. 
    • The relevant Executive Producers of each game on content road map offering financial expertise, scenario analysis and recommendations to drive growth in subscription numbers.The Value Creation Plan leadership team and individual initiative owners to monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed. 
    • Product managers, platform managers and customer support teams to identify and prevent fraudulent transactions and instigate mitigants. 

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified accountant with at least 2 years post qualification experience and strong technical accounting knowledge (ACA/CIMA preferred). 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels across the organisation. 
  • Comprehensive expertise in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, with a proven track record of delivering actionable insights to drive business performance. 
  • Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. 
  • Proficiency in financial data tools such as Alteryx, SQL,advanced Powerpoint and Excel skills. 
  • Awareness of link between fraud and revenue optimisation 
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy 
  • A high level of curiosity and a proven track record in delivering innovative solutions to complex problems
