Job Description
Caturus Energy, LLC is seeking an experienced Manager, Revenue Accounting to lead monthly revenue accounting and reporting for the upstream (E&P) business unit. This individual will be responsible for the accounting of three-stream production and sales volumes, severance tax, and royalty and working interest distributions, and will supervise the preparation of revenue-related accruals into accurate, audit-ready financial results. The role partners closely with Land, Division Order, Treasury, Tax, and Financial Reporting to ensure revenue recognition reflects the economics of upstream operations. The individual will supervise revenue accounting staff and will report to the Assistant Controller in the Caturus corporate headquarters in Houston, TX.

- Own end-to-end monthly revenue accounting and reporting for upstream entities, including review and approval of revenue journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Direct analysis and review of sales volumes and monthly volume allocations, coordinating with Land and Marketing to resolve discrepancies o Prepare price, volume, value variance analysis
- Oversee accounting for severance tax, lease use, and royalty price adjustments
- Direct generation of periodic revenue statements for owners; partner with the Treasury function to ensure timely issuance of royalty and working interest distributions
- Coordinate with the Land team and other members of management to address issues affecting royalty and working interest distributions
- Oversee processing of revenue reverse and re-book accounting entries and prior period adjustments
- Responsible for key internal controls over financial reporting relevant to the revenue close cycle, including:
- Perform preparer/reviewer-level review of revenue journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring supporting documentation is complete and reconciling items are resolved within established thresholds
- Ensure monthly revenue close and governmental reporting/payment deadlines are met, including severance tax, Texas General Land Office, and federal withholding filings
- Maintain and evidence controls over revenue accruals, including preparer review of calculation inputs and roll-forward tie-outs to the sub-ledger
- Support internal control documentation and testing efforts, including timely preparation of audit support schedules for internal and external audits
- Manage revenue audits, including providing responses to audit exceptions
- Assist in filing and payment of severance tax, Texas General Land Office, and federal withholding obligations
- Collaborate with external consultants on severance tax matters and tax recovery projects
- Supervise and develop revenue accounting staff; review work product for quality, accuracy, and timeliness
- Improve revenue accounting policies, procedures, and processes, including ERP/system enhancements
- Collaborate with other members of management on preparation of 1099 statements to royalty owners
- Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses assigned by management, including support for acquisitions (lead set-up and integration efforts), divestitures, and structured finance transactions o Assist Owner Relations personnel with owner-related queries

Experience:
- 8+ years of upstream oil & gas revenue accounting experience required
- 4+ supervisory or manager experience required
- Strong working knowledge of division order and joint interest billing concepts as they affect revenue distributions
- Experience with an upstream-capable ERP/revenue system (e.g. SAP) highly desired

- Strong data management skills; ability to format, model, and analyze large revenue and production data sets ·
