Revenue Accounting and Billing Manager

WHO YOU ARE:
The Revenue Accounting and Billing Manager is a technically strong, detail-oriented revenue accounting professional with a deep understanding of ASC 606 and a passion for building scalable, compliant revenue and billing processes. You thrive in a collaborative environment, partnering closely with finance, billing, and business leaders to ensure accurate revenue recognition and insightful financial reporting. You are comfortable navigating complexity, exercising sound judgment, and serving as a trusted subject-matter expert for revenue and billing matters.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Closely work with the Company’s controller in the revenue recognition area, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance for the Company’s insurance platforms business.
• Support the Company’s controller with review and analysis of new and renewal of customer contracts. Familiarity with the five-step ASC 606 framework.
• Assist in preparing clear and well-supported revenue recognition memos and audit documentation to support company conclusions.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to discuss revenue recognition analysis, monthly variances, and deal structures.
• Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities for revenue and related accounts, including accounts receivable and deferred revenue.
• Review account reconciliations, identify and resolve discrepancies, and communicate findings with the Controller and broader finance leadership.
• Participate in deal reviews and provide guidance on revenue and billing implications.
• Provide oversight and guidance to the billing team, including assisting with the investigation and resolution of billing discrepancies.
• Support internal and external audits by delivering timely, accurate, and well-organized documentation.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses to support management decision-making and business initiatives.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain effective revenue accounting controls, processes, and documentation to support a growing organization.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• CPA and/or master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in revenue recognition and billing; experience in technology or SaaS environments strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with the ASC 606 and revenue contracts review.
• Experience with NetSuite preferred.
• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment while meeting critical deadlines.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners.
