The Role: 

As a Contract Revenue Accountant at Viz.ai, you will manage the order-to-cash operational accounting as well as the month-end revenue close reporting process. Your responsibilities include contracts review, billing & collection, journal preparation, accounts reconciliation, and variance analysis. This is a contractor position expected to be at 40 hours per week, with potential to convert to a full-time employee position.

You will: 

• Support the end-to-end order-to-cash operations at Viz, including approving sales orders, processing billing, managing collections, and applying cash receipts
• Manage sales tax reporting, reconciliation, and payment
• Work closely with the Sales, Professional Services, and Sales Operation teams to improve process workflow within ERP systems (e.g. Netsuite, Salesforce) and other tools, to ensure accurate generation of sales orders and invoices
• Assist in month-end close for the order to cash cycle, including bookings review, posting revenue entries, bad debt and sales return allowances, as well as performing reconciliation and flux analysis over revenue, accounts receivable, contract assets, deferred revenue, and other accounts as needed
• Assist with preparation of schedules and reporting for external partners
• Assist with ad hoc projects such as financial audits and internal/external reporting

What success looks like:

• You have strong attention to detail and closely review sales orders to process the billing, revenue, and payment
• You collaborate well with cross-functional teams (sales, legal, finance) to resolve contract-related queries
• You proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

We are looking for:  

• A team player and strong can do mentality
• 1-2 years of relevant industry experience and/or public accounting 
• Detail oriented and able to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – We are a small team and this role will regularly interact with the Technical Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, and VP of Finance
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA and experience at Big 4, preferred
• Experience working with NetSuite and moderate Excel skills, preferred
