Responsible Officer

In this position you will....

act as the General Manager of our licensed insurance brokerage business and supervise all regulated activities including but not limited to regulatory filings, reporting, and communications with the Insurance Bureau (“IB”). You will manage relationships with our insurance partners and will support the implementation of business development and partnerships strategies. You will lead and guide the development, continuous improvement and implementation of effective compliance policies and procedures in collaboration with our Legal & Compliance team.

 You will be responsible for…

• Acting as the General Manager and Chairman of our brokage business to manage and supervise operations including settlement, account management, risk management, claims administration and customer service etc.
• Managing, deepening and expanding relationships with existing IE partners by continuously understanding, proposing and adapting solutions to meet their needs and expectations.
• Reviewing all policies and procedures related to operations and risk control to ensure operations and all regulated activities are fully compliant with IA regulations and requirements
• Maintaining our online insurance license and ensuring the ISO 27001, PIMS and other information security standards as required by TWIB are strictly applied and implemented on our online insurance platform.
• Keeping abreast of regulatory requirements and developments and providing coaching and training to team members on regulatory updates proactively.
• Assisting in product launch and marketing events as and when necessary.

 You will require the following qualifications and skills                                                                                                               

• Degree holder in Finance, Accounting or business administration related disciplines from a recognized university or tertiary education institution.
• Must be a current/former General Manager/Responsible Officer of a Licensed Insurance Agency or Licensed Insurance Broker Company.
• No less than five years’ experience working for licensed insurance broker companies as senior management overseeing business development and operations. 
• Solid knowledge of GI insurance knowledge, TWIB regulations and requirements on online insurance. Candidate with good understanding of insurtech/digitalization is highly preferred
• Holder of insurance sales agent license and property insurance license. 
• Strong stakeholder management, relationship building and project management skills.
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and can work effectively across a complex matrix organization and establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills. 
• Proactive, self-starter and result oriented.
• Native in spoken and written Chinese and proficient in spoken and written English.
