Role Purpose

Reporting to the Group Data Office, Responsible AI Lead, you will help operationalise the Bank's Responsible AI principle, strengthen AI governance processes through automation, and provide responsible AI advisory across business units.

Key Responsibilities

1. AI Governance Framework Implementation

  • Understand regulatory expectations relating to AI governance and support the development and enhancement of the Bank's AI governance framework and policies to meet regulatory requirements and safeguard the Bank.

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of practical AI standards, procedures, and guidelines for the Bank.

2. AI Governance Process Optimization & Adoption

  • Support the implementation of a modern Model Management Platform that enables lifecycle controls, documentation management, workflow automation, and monitoring capabilities.

  • Drive adoption of the platform across development teams and gather feedback to continuously improve usability, effectiveness, and coverage.

3. AI Governance Advisory & Business Enablement

  • Provide advisory and training to business units on how to meet AI governance requirements.

  • Perform review of critical and high-risk AI use cases, challenge AI implementations where necessary, and provide recommendations.

4. AI Inventory and Risk Assessment

  • Manage the department's AI inventory and facilitate AI risk and materiality assessments, FEAT assessment

5. Regulatory & Industry Monitoring

  • Monitor developments in AI regulations, supervisory expectations, and industry best practices.

  • Assist in preparing governance reports, management updates, regulatory submissions, and responses to regulators.

What You'll Bring

Must Have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related AI Governance discipline.

  • 5–8 years in AI/ML, model risk, model validation, or AI governance — via technical practice, product delivery, or risk/governance roles with real AI exposure — within a bank or another regulated environment.

  • Practical experience in model validation and testing, with the ability to apply traditional model risk management principles to emerging AI use cases, including Generative AI and agentic AI systems.

  • Strong understanding of AI lifecycle management, bias and fairness, explainability, controls and guardrails and monitoring concepts.

  • Ability to critically assess and challenge complex AI systems, identify risks, and recommend effective controls.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce decision-ready and regulatory-grade documentation and communicate technical and governance concepts to senior management and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with MAS and other regulatory frameworks covering AI risk management, data governance, technology risk, information security, and third-party risk management.

  • Hands-on experience with AI/GenAI frameworks and cloud-based AI services.

  • Experience contributing to the design and implementation of model management, governance, or risk management platforms.

  • Hands-on experience designing and executing GenAI evaluation methodologies and testing frameworks.

  • Exposure to industry forums, regulatory working groups, or governance committees related to AI.
