The Responsible AI Architect will support the use, design, and development of AI in all areas of the business. The purpose of this position is to partner with IT, legal, and business teams to provide transparent, accountable, fair, private, secure, and overall ethical guidance on AI projects as they are evaluated and implemented. This position will work closely with our AI Security Architect, Information Security teams, AI Governance Committee, Privacy Architect, Data Science, Legal, and IT teams.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Implement and manage Responsible AI by collaborating with existing legal, security, data science, and IT teams to identify and address Responsible AI risks.
• Ensure Responsible AI compliance in accordance with the AI Governance Committee.
• Monitor and audit AI using the NIST Trustworthy & Responsible Artificial Intelligence Resource Center.
• Implement and execute the AI Compliance Program.
• Partner with AI product owners & AI Security Architect to complete the AI Compliance Process, including AI Inventory, AI Risk Assessment, AI Impact Assessment, AI Development Standards Checklists, and 3rd Party AI Questionnaire – with an emphasis on Responsible AI.
• Provide guidance and support to ensure AI applications align to Enterprise AI Principles.
• Deliver against the overall data science strategy to drive in-store and digital merchandising, marketing, customer loyalty, and operational performance.
• Partner with product development to define requirements which meet system and customer experience needs for data science projects.
• Identify and develop solutions for root causes and risk trends to improve the effectiveness of the Program.
• Develop testing protocols to ensure proper execution of the Program.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

• Advanced Degree (MA/MS, PhD) in AI, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• Certifications: Azure Data Science Associate, Azure AI, Safe Agile, IAPP AIGP, etc.
• 6+ years of relevant data science, AI, or machine learning experience in an applied role – preferable w/in retail, logistics, supply chain or CPG.
• 6+ years of experience in compliance, law, or ethics with extensive exposure to AI governance, risk management, and privacy impact assessments.
• Advanced and hands on experience using: Python, Databricks, Azure ML, Azure Cognitive Service, R, SQL, PySpark, Numpy, Pandas, Scikit Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Transformers.
• Experience with cloud technologies including Azure DevOps, Azure Synapse, Azure MLOps, GitHub.
• Solid experience working with large datasets and developing ML/AI systems such as: natural language processing, speech/text/image recognition, supervised and unsupervised learning models, forecasting and/or econometric time series models.
• Strong understanding of AI; technology, ethics, risks associated, privacy impact, security controls.
• Experience in implementing and managing AI, legal, security, and/or privacy compliance programs.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide guidance on AI compliance.
• Knowledge of the NIST Trustworthy & Responsible Artificial Intelligence Resource Center.
• Understanding of other AI principles and frameworks, including NIST AI Risk Management Frameworks and OECD AI Principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to develop solutions for root causes, complex social problems, and AI ethics trends.
