As a Resource Manager at Aprio, you will be pivotal in ensuring optimal resource allocation both onshore and offshore, project delivery, and client satisfaction. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to assess resource needs, optimize resource utilization, and drive strategic workforce planning initiatives.
This role ensures smooth client service and workforce stability by efficiently integrating new business advisory, tax and accounting professionals into the firm's systems and workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with practice leadership and operation leads, to support resource planning for all current and incoming professionals, ensuring appropriate training occurs to procure consistent adoptions accounted for in forecast planning systems.
- Build strong working relationships with Practice Leaders, Engagement Managers, and Talent partners to support a team‑based approach to workforce planning.
- Proactively identify resource needs, capacity gaps, and timing risks in a high-volume tax business model to prevent last‑minute staffing disruptions.
- Extensive understanding of tax pool practices, ability to navigate complex and uncertain situations with strategic decision-making, reliable and team-oriented
- Support client service team by consistently monitoring open job needs/requests and scheduled assignments for accuracy, assisting with staffing solution strategies.
- Provide coverage as needed for Resource Management team in areas related to staffing requests for client engagements, projects, and initiatives.
- Ensure consistent RM team practices in forecast planning and process improvements, while minimizing impact on client service operations.
- Support the strategic movement of work to offshore resources while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Partner with operations offshore team members to ensure current pipelines, capacity views, and weekly staffing rosters for offshore teams.
- Collaborate with industry leaders, pod leaders, engagement managers, and project leaders assessing staffing needs and project requirements.
- Embrace an Agile mindset to adapt to changing priorities, client demands, and project requirements effectively.
- Implement best practices, policies, and procedures related to workforce management, project delivery, and client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain relationships with client service personnel and leverage these relationships to maximize change management partnership opportunities.
- Support client service team by monitoring project timelines, workloads, and resource utilization to identify potential resource conflicts or capacity constraints.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to resource management, project delivery, and client satisfaction.
- Proactively address resource allocation challenges by recommending adjustments, realignments, or additional staffing resources as needed.
- Demonstrate the ability to negotiate timelines, priorities, and staffing assignments to achieve optimal outcomes for both clients and the team.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow Resource Managers to balance workloads, share resources, and support enterprise staffing priorities.
- Actively participate in team meetings, planning discussions, and working sessions to align priorities and share insights.
- Partner with peers to resolve resource conflicts through open communication and solution‑oriented discussion
- Share best practices, lessons learned, and process improvements with the Resource Management team to promote consistency and efficiency.
- Performs other related duties, consistent with the scope of the role, as required to support resource management and M&A integration objectives.
Relationship Building with Stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field preferred. Professional certification (e.g., RMCP, PMP, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of work experience in resource management, data management, and workforce planning, preferably within a professional services firm or accounting environment.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data, trends, and workforce metrics.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Power BI, resource management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong business acumen and ability to effectively collaborate with diverse personalities and stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and effectively prioritize competing demands.
