About the role
We are looking for a driven, forward-thinking professional with deep US Casualty experience to join our Reserving team. In this role, you will lead parts of the quarterly reserving exercise, analyze data, share insights with stakeholders and streamline our processes. In addition, you will improve the US Casualty reserving analysis by incorporating external data sources, proposing new analytical methods, and staying on top of market trends. As a senior team member, you will coach more junior colleagues and shape our reserving framework.
Your responsibilities

Bring in external data sources to improve the US Casualty analysis. Propose new structures or ways of analyzing the classes.

Track and communicate emerging trends, regulatory changes and market shifts relevant to US Casualty. Analyze other classes to broaden understanding and eliminate key person risk.

Articulate reserving outcomes to Underwriting and other teams, ensuring transparency and shared understanding. Develop or enhance tools (Python, SQL, Databricks) to automate workflows.

Refine and maintain clear documentation for reserving processes and methodologies.
Your profile

Qualified actuary, FCAS preferred

A minimum of 7 years in (re)insurance reserving or pricing, consulting experience also considered –with a strong focus on US Casualty.

Thorough knowledge of technical aspects of reinsurance, including contract features, especially around US Casualty.

Team player, ability to build strong relationships with other stakeholders.

Skilled at conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences, including those without a technical background.

Capable of creating action plans, pursuing multiple lines of inquiry, and keeping stakeholders updated on progress.

Attention to detail and ability to determine the implications of data decisions.

Awareness of the big picture and the ability to connect the different aspects of a problem.

Proficiency in Python, SQL, or Databricks is an advantage. Advanced Microsoft Office skills are essential.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $300,000
