Job Description:

The Researcher role is responsible for the effective implementation of DM Strategy Review and Refresh through end-to-end support from data gathering, analysis, to reporting activities. The researcher will serve as secondary focal person of the strategy review and refresh process under the guidance of the Partnering Officer and the HEA Director. Related activities are research-oriented in nature and would require regular coordination with stakeholders on goals and objectives of the review and refresh, information and regular updates, and engagement to ensure active participation and contribution to related activities.

This is a fixed term post based in Quezon City.

Major Responsibilities:

40% Data Collection and Management

  • Support in finalizing the research design and tools for the review and refresh
  • Co-facilitate data gathering, organization, and documentation, and provide regular feedback and updates on the same
  • Ensure stakeholder coordination throughout the data collection process, including surveys, workshops, FGDs, KIIs, and other participatory methods
  • Monitor and track the submission and syncing of completed data collection tools to ensure accuracy and timeliness

30% Analysis and Reporting

  • Provide support in analysis and reporting quantitative and qualitative data
  • Submit necessary monitoring reports and information to the HEA Director and other relevant members of the Technical Working Group
  • Prepare reports, briefers, presentations, and other related documents as required
  • Assist in writing drafts and finalizing the DM and Partnering Strategy

15% Quality Implementation and Logistics

  • Ensure activities are organized and done in a timely and efficient manner
  • If fieldwork and face-to-face interview are applicable, ensure that submitted documents are complete, accounted for and turned over to WV after the data gathering
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of project processes and end results. Capture success stories and lessons learned during the review and refresh
  • Facilitate administrative and logistical concerns and requirements, as needed

15% Team and Team Performance Management

  • Participate in Technical Work Group meetings and communication
  • Strictly observe WV policies and guidelines, including security/safety protocols
  • Model Christian values and lifestyle in life, word, deed and sign, with utmost sensitivity

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field related to Social Sciences.
  • Professional qualifications related to Research and Programme Associate functions are an advantage.
  • At least 2–3 years of field experience in humanitarian relief and disaster response, including work in complex and uncertain operating environments.
  • Experience in Disaster Management, development, and research.
  • Experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL).
  • Involvement in research projects and other MEAL-related activities.
  • Preferably with experience or knowledge of World Vision Partnership (WVP) and World Vision Development Foundation (WVDF) Disaster Management and Partnering work.
  • Knowledge of various research methodologies and processes, including surveys, workshops, and focus group discussions (FGDs).
  • Excellent research, analytical, and technical writing skills.
  • Strong observation and analytical abilities.
  • Good understanding of World Vision and Sphere humanitarian standards.
  • Clear understanding of the roles, approaches, and standards of major UN agencies, international donors, and government institutions.
  • Proficient in computer applications relevant to research, data management, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Fluent in English and at least one major Filipino language or dialect, preferably in addition to Tagalog.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Able to establish and maintain good working relationships with government agencies and partner networks.
  • Team player with proven experience working effectively in diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Sensitive to sectoral needs and respectful of the country's cultural context.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and able to foster positive, democratic working relationships within teams.
  • Good physical health and willingness to work in challenging field conditions.
