Optimise the steering of thousands of assets against prices, forecasts, and physical limits.
Forecast a system that reacts to you. Customers steering a battery or heat pump have an information advantage. Your models need to account for their individual behaviour before they act
Price what almost never happens. A handful of hours can define much of the year’s downside, with little data to learn from. Our models need to be resilient to such shocks without overfitting on past events.
You can defend your modelling choices. You can explain the intuition behind your approach, why you chose it over alternatives, and which observations would invalidate the result.
You know when results are too good to be true. You look for data leakage, weak data hygiene, overtesting, and assumptions that would not have held in a live run.
You get your hands dirty. You can turn a valid idea into reliable systems, deal with messy data, and stay responsible for how your models perform in the real world.

Skills Required
- Deep experience working on a quantitative problem in research or industry
- Ability to explain the mathematics behind modeling approaches and defend assumptions
- Experience taking research models into production and informing real decisions
- Ability to evaluate models before deployment and assess performance under real-world conditions
- Ability to critically evaluate backtests, including information availability, execution feasibility, and rare failures
