Your next career opportunity  
In this part-time role, you will provide specialist technical and scientific support for research into poultry behaviour and welfare. A significant component of the role will involve desk-based coding and analysis of animal behaviour from video to support automated monitoring and research. You will also contribute to experimental studies, coordinate research trials and manage laboratory and field-based research infrastructure, while providing technical guidance and training to students and researchers. 

What you will deliver:  

• Provide specialist technical and scientific support for poultry behaviour and welfare research projects. 

• Undertake detailed coding and analysis of animal behaviour from video to support automated monitoring systems and research outcomes. 

• Contribute to experimental design, data collection, analysis and preparation of reports, publications and presentations. 

• Coordinate research and commercial trials, including scheduling, logistics, stakeholder communication and on-site activities. 

• Manage laboratory and field infrastructure, monitoring equipment, procedures and compliance with ethics and safety requirements. 

• Provide technical training and guidance to students and researchers in research methods, animal welfare practices and use of equipment. 

You may be a great fit if you:  

• Hold a degree in animal science, veterinary bioscience, biology or a closely related discipline. 

• Demonstrate sound knowledge of animal behaviour and welfare, with strong commitment to ethical research practice. 

• Bring experience contributing technical, laboratory, field or analytical support to successful research projects. 

• Possess excellent organisational skills to manage competing priorities and deliver projects within agreed timeframes. 

• Apply practical knowledge of research compliance, including animal ethics, biosafety and occupational health and safety. 

• Engage confidently with students, colleagues and industry partners, building collaborative relationships across disciplines.
