Position Summary:

Responsibilities:  

  • Teach university research methodology courses as a part of the FAUHS Research Program, including but not limited to Multidisciplinary Introduction to Research (EDF 2910) and Multidisciplinary Research Methods 1 (EDF 2911), Multidisciplinary Research Methods 2 (EDF 3912), and Multidisciplinary Research Methods 3 (EDF 3913) 

  • Mentor FAU High School Research Program students on their undergraduate research pathways 

  • Coordinate aspects of the FAUHS Research Program, including scheduling courses, advertising course offerings to students, helping students receive registration permission, managing Canvas sites, collecting and maintaining program data, contributing to the monthly research newsletter, and managing department website content 

  • Collaborate with partners at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience to support and coordinate the student data science pathway, fostering interdisciplinary learning and research engagement 

  • Support research collaborations and projects in the Marcus Innovation and Research Center, which provides on-site access to over 12,000 sq ft of research laboratory space and more than $2 million in cutting-edge research equipment 

  • Conduct independent research and mentor FAUHS student researchers on projects, resulting in the dissemination of the results 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications:

• A master’s degree from an accredited institution 
• Research experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Preferred Qualifications: 
• Minimum of 1-2 years of K-12 or collegiate teaching experience 
• Engineering experience in the K-12 and/or Higher Education contexts, including but not limited to coding, robotics, CAD/3D printing, drones, remote sensing, biomechanics, agricultural engineering, and aerospace engineering
• Experience with interactive data visualization, reporting, and predictive analytics (e.g., Power BI)

The candidate selected for the position will be required to have fingerprinting done at the FAU Police Department and a background check done by the school.
