Job Description

For our Global Research Team, we are looking for an ambitious specialist to join our international Research Team for Restructuring, Performance, Transformation and Transaction in Bucharest, Romania. Our team provides research support to all Roland Berger offices globally. As Research Specialist for Restructuring, Performance, Transformation and Transaction you will support consulting teams mainly in DACH with in-depth analysis and market assessments. Besides conducting information searches and analyses, you will carry out short-term project tasks and support internal studies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct company, market, and industry research and analysis to identify relevant drivers and trends
  • Evaluate companies and business models across various industries through financial analysis
  • Perform information searches and analyze quantitative and qualitative data
  • Calculate key financial indicators, metrics, and benchmarks, and conduct complex financial analyses for restructuring cases
  • Utilize professional databases, especially financial databases
  • Support internal studies and product development
  • Contribute to internal knowledge management

Qualifications

  • Outstanding business economics degree from a university or international business school
  • First professional experience in Corporate Finance or M&A, e.g., at auditing firms, investment banks, financial investors, or consulting companies
  • Strong understanding of business administration and financials, with a keen interest in restructuring, turnaround, and transactions (PMI, carve-out, private equity, M&A, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, strategic and entrepreneurial thinking, and a high level of service orientation and flexibility
  • Proficiency in MS Office and professional financial databases like CapIQ, BvD, etc.; knowledge of Python and web scraping capabilities is an advantage
  • Structured and goal-oriented working style, with friendly and open communication
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Romanian as well as fluency in German, additional language skills are desirable
