Neogen Corporation is seeking a Research Scientist with advanced expertise in analytical instrumentation and chemistry to join our innovative team. This role supports the research and development of diagnostic assays and devices designed to detect and quantify natural toxins and other contaminants in food and agricultural products.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and optimize analytical methods using spectroscopic, chromatographic, and LC/MS/MS techniques.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate chemical contaminants, natural toxins, allergens, and microorganisms in food matrices.
- Lead UPLC/MS/MS assay development projects from concept through validation.
- Analyze complex data sets and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with R&D, regulatory, and product development teams to bring new food safety solutions to market.
- Maintain detailed documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
- B.S. degree plus 9 years, M.S. degree plus 5 years, or Ph.D. plus 3 in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or closely related field.
- Proven experience in LC/MS/MS method development and validation.
- Strong background in food safety diagnostics and analytical chemistry.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- This is an onsite position based in Lansing, MI, designed to foster collaboration and support business needs.
