Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyze signal and image processing chains to identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Perform literature reviews on the latest imaging trends in cart-based ultrasound systems and formulate methodologies to bring into a lower-resourced, handheld form factor.
  • Design new techniques and algorithms that help maximize handheld ultrasound performance.
  • Perform experimentation using various test equipment to characterize transmit and receive signal paths.
  • Create detailed documentation as substantiated evidence of performance.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to draw meaningful conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Prepare and present research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Publish research findings in reputable scientific journals and present at conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards in research activities.

Your Experience So Far:

  • M.Eng or M.Sc or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Medical Imaging, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science) is preferred. However, candidates with a relevant degree combined with significant relevant work experience will also be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in medical imaging or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in signal processing and imaging algorithms and data analysis.
  • Strong publication record in reputable scientific journals.
  • Proficiency in tools Python, MATLAB, and R.
  • Ability to translate algorithms into real-time programming languages such as C, C++, HLS, and VHDL.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting complex technical information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Location and Compensation:

This is a hybrid role that requires some in-office presence; therefore, we can only consider candidates who are based within a commutable distance from our Vancouver, BC office. This is a 12-month temporary full-time position with the potential to extend based on performance and project needs.

The salary range for this role is set at $100,000 - $125,000.
