Position Description
Our Research Product team sits at the intersection of research content, distribution, and commercial impact, playing a key role in shaping how our research franchise is positioned and consumed by clients. Based in Hong Kong and reporting to the Head of Product Impact and Innovation, this role is suited to a markets-savvy, commercially minded professional—ideally with an equity sales or client-facing equities background—who is passionate about research product and how it delivers value to clients. The successful candidate will work closely with analysts, sales and research management to enhance the quality, consistency, and impact of research output, while helping connect stock-level ideas, sector insights and broader thematic narratives. This is a hands-on role requiring a highly organised, proactive self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to operate effectively across a fast-paced, matrixed platform.Key Areas of Responsibilities
Research Product & Content Oversight- Attend daily research calls
- Support daily review of equity research output, rating / target changes and thematic reports
- Ensure content is clear, timely, consistent and aligned with CSI’s research positioning and thematic frameworks
- Help identify potential franchise, reputational or messaging risks across published research
- Maintain discipline around formatting, messaging consistency and product standards
- Work with analysts and research management to drive delivery of high-profile research ideas from conception to output
- Help analysts refine and hone quality of high-conviction ideas, thematic pieces and cross-sector insights
- Help connect bottom-up stock views with broader market and thematic narratives
- Contribute to ongoing development of research’s product offering, including thematic content and scalable formats
- Support use of data, digital tools and AI-enabled solutions to enhance research production and distribution
- Look for opportunities to automate and develop our processes
- Work across research teams (China, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, India, ASEAN, Australia, USA) to drive collaboration
- Encourage cross-sector and cross-market work to enhance the value and insightfulness of our research
- Enhance cross-department delivery of research product
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years’ experience in equity research, equity sales, sales trading, or research product
- Strong understanding of equity markets, client workflows and research consumption
- Prior experience in a client-facing or market-facing role (especially equity sales) a positive
- Commercial mindset with a clear understanding of what drives client engagement and revenue
- Ability to refine and position content and delivery
- Excellent and well-structured written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin
- Highly organised, disciplined in execution, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to clearly organize, structure, and analyze complex data sets
- Understanding of financial modelling and accounting, and strong Excel skills
- Bachelors degree required, preferably in finance, business, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline. CFA or equivalent qualification is preferred
- Self-starter with a problem-solving mentality
- Collaborative and positive mindset, with the ability to work across teams, regions and functions
- Curiosity around how research product is evolving, including digital and AI-driven workflows
