Overview of the role

This Manager leads a team of analysts in Euromonitor’s Seoul office, ensuring the delivery of high-quality local insights and compelling client narratives. This position emphasizes team management, operational excellence, and fostering a collaborative environment across cross-functional workflows. The Manager serves as a bridge between the team, Regional team, Client Support team, Foundational Data team, and other internal departments, and executes on organizational goals and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Mentor and Develop Talent: Recruit, train, and mentor a diverse team of analysts to foster professional growth, enhance local industry expertise and cross-functional collaboration.  
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and recognize achievements to motivate high performance.
  • Collaborative Environment: Cultivate a culture of teamwork, open communication, and accountability and close collaboration with Regional and Client Support teams. 

Project Oversight

  • Strategic Planning: Plan, prioritize, and execute multiple research projects while ensuring adherence to methodologies, deadlines, and deliverable quality.
  • Monitoring and Delivery: Oversee research workflows, monitor progress, and address potential issues to ensure on-time and high-standard project completion, and support the evolving interplay between Local, Regional and Client Support. 

Client Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Engagement Support: Spend a minimum 20% of time leading client engagement directly with dedicated accounts. Guide the team in identifying opportunities to deepen client engagement and uncover potential business growth opportunities.
  • Escalation Point: Act as the primary escalation point for client concerns, providing solutions and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Queries: Work with the Client Support team to convert client queries into actionable opportunities, fostering enhanced engagement and driving mutual growth.
  • PR: Represent the Company and support analysts at conferences, trade events, and other external forums, positioning the team as trusted industry experts.
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to the company’s visibility by supporting PR efforts and providing input on industry publications. 

Research and Insight Integration

  • Local Insights: Drive local insights and data inputs through trade interviews, expert consultants and data exchanges with clients and ensure established KPIs are met. Ensure key local secondary sources are covered.   
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee and approve research outputs to ensure they are accurately sourced, align with client requirements, and adhere to company standards. Maintain accountability for the timely delivery of projects.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Regional Research teams to integrate local insights into broader datasets and ensure consistency across deliverables. This extends into the Consulting Research team where there is a track record of custom studies that leverage on Passport data as foundation input and whereby taxonomies are similar / aligned.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate the dissemination of best practices and key findings across the team and organization.
  • Innovation: Drive innovation in data collection techniques to uncover new inputs for clients.

Key Interdependencies with Regional:

  • Ensure that Local insights are continuously fed into Regional-team methodologies to bring local market knowledge and client feedback to our datasets
  • Collaborate with Regional to evaluate which research tasks should be Local-driven and which can be scaled through central methods.
  • Actively work towards refining the optimal balance on Local and Regional dynamics at an industry and regional level.

Operational Efficiency

  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and optimize cross-functional workflows to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed project documentation, progress reports, and analysis for leadership visibility and decision-making. 

Requirements

Skills / Proficiencies required

  • Right to work in South Korea 
  • Native Korean speaker and fluency in business English to liaise with colleagues in regional counterparts
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. 
  • Research Expertise: Skilled in conducting primary research and analysing its impact on large-scale datasets. Strong understanding of local industry dynamics and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. 
  • Project Management: Exceptional organizational and planning skills to deliver projects on time and to specification. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and relationship management skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to resolve complex research challenges and ensure high-quality research outcomes.  
  • Process Improvement: Proactive mindset to streamline workflows and enhance operational performance.
