Job Designation: Research Intern

 

Number of Positions: 02

 

Job Location: New Delhi

 

Reporting to: Programme Associate

 

Duration: 3 months

 

Purpose:

The intern will contribute to developing sector-specific emission factors for MSMEs by:

-          Assisting in designing and executing surveys and data collection related to energy use, production processes, and emission profiles of MSMEs.

-          Supporting on-field data verification for selected MSME units.

-          Performing literature reviews to gather existing emission factors and methodologies used for similar sectors.

-          Assisting in the analysis and validation of collected data.

-          Supporting the team in report preparation, presentations, and workshops.

 

Job duties and accountabilities

Research & Analysis:

        Assist in data collection related to energy use, production processes, and emission profiles of MSMEs.

        Support on-field data verification for selected MSME units.

        Utilise different advanced data analysis, visualisation, and reporting tools to identify hotspots (like Excel, Python/R, QGIS/Google Earth Engine)

        Conduct research and analysis on the current status of MSMEs with respect to environmental regulations, particularly concerning air pollution and emissions control.

        Utilise knowledge of boiler operation, efficiency calculations, and fuel consumption patterns to support the assessment of emissions from thermal energy processes within MSMEs.

        Develop strategies and frameworks to assist MSMEs in transitioning to cleaner technologies and practices, utilising insights gained from field surveys.

 

 

Selection Criteria

 

Qualification

        Bachelor’s/Master’s in Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation & Control /Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

 

Key skills

 

        Desirable: Experience with GIS packages like ArcGIS or QGIS, Google Earth Engine

        Desirable: Experience in statistical tools and data representation

        Must have strong communication skills for effective, efficient, and adaptive verbal and written communication, and active listening.

        The candidate should be willing to travel.

Compensation

Skills Required
