Job Duties and Accountabilities
Research
To carry out a literature review on solid waste management (SWM) and air pollution, and summarise the findings as reports
To keep a tab on the latest research developments and policy developments in the state, India and worldwide, pertinent to SWM
To provide research content for the organisation's web pages, blogs, issue briefs, etc
To participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and training programmes for a comprehensive understanding of the SWM and air quality management in India and globally
Programme assistance
Assist with project implementation, including help with preparing presentations, fact sheets and other communication materials
Support efforts to use new media platforms for the wide dissemination of CEEW's work and, in turn, closer engagement with the wider community.
Participate in weekly team meetings and assist with preparing minutes
Support senior team members for important meetings and sessions, prepare notes, and conduct follow-ups, as required
Requirements
Education and experience
Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's/Master's degree in economics, urban planning, statistics, development management, waste management, public policy or environmental science
0-1 years of relevant research experience
A fair understanding of environmental policy and governance in India and worldwide
Desire to research on waste management
Main skills
Must have strong research skills – capability to carry out systematic literature review and familiarity with research methods
Strong data analytical skills, including quantitative research skills
Good written and oral communication skills; Good report writing skills
Desirable: Create high-impact infographics and presentations that translate complex data into visually compelling narratives
Desirable: Experience in working with QGIS, R, Python or geospatial and other big datasets
Desirable: Have understanding of waste management and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)

Skills Required

What We Do
The Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) is an India-based, globally engaged, independent and non-partisan not-for-profit policy research institution and think tank. It analyses critical questions concerning energy, environment and water, using data, integrated analysis and strategic outreach to influence resource use and sustainable development. CEEW conducts high-quality research and advises policymakers across India and the Global South through evidence-based public engagement.
