Job DescriptionAt Bosch Research in Pittsburgh, we are seeking a forward-thinking research intern to explore the development of autonomous AI agents that can perceive, reason, and act in real-world environments. This role offers the opportunity to design and implement agentic AI systems that integrate multimodal sensing, generative AI, and decision-making models to enable intelligent automation in dynamic environments.
This internship will focus on creating a demonstrator in a real-world setting, where AI agents will autonomously interpret and respond to sensor data. The work will involve sensing, anomaly detection, and action recognition, leveraging insights from cutting-edge multimodal AI techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Develop AI agents that interpret and respond to sensor data, visual inputs, and other signal-based modalities.
- Evaluate system performance across diverse benchmarks and real-world conditions.
- Show a proof-of-concept demo.
- Document findings and contribute to high-impact publications in leading AI conferences and journals.
Required:
- Currently enrolled as a PhD student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in deep learning, reinforcement learning, and generative AI with expertise in computer vision (CV), natural language processing (NLP), or multimodal AI.
- Proven track record of research contributions, including publications in top AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICCV, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP).
- 2+ years of programming experience in Python, with proficiency in frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Desired:
- Experience in signal-based data processing (e.g., Wi-Fi CSI, audio data, or time-series sensor data).
- Familiarity with agentic AI principles, reinforcement learning, and decision-making models.
- Experience with anomaly detection and action recognition in multimodal AI applications.
- Experience in fine-tuning Vision-Language Models (VLMs) and Large Language Models (LLMs) for autonomous AI agents.
- Knowledge of multimodal learning for integrating diverse sensor data into decision-making pipelines.
Demonstrated ability to innovate and develop AI-driven automation systems in real-world environments.
Additional InformationThe U.S. base salary range for this intern position is $30.00/hr-$56.50/hr. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, type of degree, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, type of position, job location, etc. Your Hiring Manager can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.*
