The Role

he Research & Insight Manager in Condé Nast Britain will report to the Senior Research & Insight Director and will work closely with editorial, sales, data and marketing teams across the organisation. The position requires an analytical and creative mind that is able to dive deep to find the best, most compelling stories to support Condé Nast’s initiatives. Successful candidates will be adaptable, quick learners, who work well in a fast-paced environment. They will have strong analytical skills and a passion for uncovering new and more impactful ways of working with data. This position will be based in our centrally located London office. 

In this role you will be involved in all phases of the research process (development, execution, analysis, reporting) with a focus on developing insights and creating reports which will help guide strategic decisions impacting brand, editorial, and commercial revenue, and new consumer revenue generating offerings across our portfolio of brands (such as Vogue, GQ, Glamour, Wired, Vanity Fair, etc.) and products (print and digital subscriptions, premium offerings, OTT channels, etc.). The ideal candidate will have experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.

What will you be doing?

  • Assist in writing RFPs, surveys, screeners and discussion guides

  • Program quantitative studies using self-service tools (Qualtrics or Alida)

  • Analyse research data to uncover insights, find trends, patterns and differences in opinion among different audiences

  • Create insightful presentations and develop ways to visualise presentation data in engaging and easy-to-understand slides

  • Effectively collaborate with external research vendors throughout research process: data collection, data processing and results reporting

  • Respond to adhoc research and insight requests

  • Demonstrate the strength of Condé Nast brands and audiences through the creation of impactful sales collateral for our advertising sales teams

  • Support advertising client pitches using data derived from 1st, 3rd party and syndicated research data and build out compelling narratives

  • Conduct advertising effectiveness studies, from conception through to completion, to prove the efficiency of sold advertising campaigns

  • Work cross-functionally with Data, Custom Insight, Marketing and the broader global Commercial Research team to create higher efficiency in research insights process

  • Maintain excellent standards of communication and stakeholder management

  • Managing 1-2 Insight Executives

Who you are:

  • 4+ years of professional media research experience, preferably at a media content provider

  • Experience working with complex datasets and multi-platform context, either in the fields of digital analytics, research, or audience measurement, with insights/narrative building a must-have skill

  • People management experience

  • Working knowledge of syndicated resources including, but not limited to: comScore, Ipsos Iris, Google Analytics, ListenFirst, TGI, GWI, Shareablee and Pamco

  • Familiar with primary and secondary research methods, e.g. audience profiling / segmentation, brand strategy, market sizing, survey design, advertising effectiveness and custom research 

  • Experience working with survey programming software

  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

  • Strong writing skills — excelling at crisp headlines and communicating deep, insightful research

  • Strong analytical and strategic sense, coupled with a creative eye and aesthetic

  • Proactive and curious, with a desire to learn tools quickly and dig deeper into discovering new and better ways to surface insights

  • Ability to synthesise data from multiple sources to develop best data-led stories

  • Confident and articulate, with the ability to interact and present to staff and clients, comfortable making their strategic viewpoints heard

  • Interest in media trends and consumer behavior 

  • Proficiency in Google Product Suite is preferred; experience using presentation software is a must (also Powerpoint and Keynote)

  • An understanding of the advertising and media landscape across print, digital, social, and video is a plus
