Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Research Finance Specialist.
Position Status: Full Time
Position Location: This position is located in Norfolk, VA
Standard Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ET)
The Research Finance Specialist provides administrative and financial oversight support to multidisciplinary research divisions. Conducts contract and budget negotiations with various industry sponsors and academic centers.
The Research Finance Specialist provides compliance oversight of Sentara's Research Billing Process through Medicare Coverage Analysis development. Serves as administrator of the clinical trial management system (CTMS).
Other responsibilities include financial management based on GAAP, accounting for research asset/liability accounts, profit and loss reports of the clinical trials cost centers, and reconciling the clinical trials management system. Reports monthly to Executive Leadership, and Corporate Finance. Ideal candidates must be able to read and interpret financial reports and develop budgets.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Five (5) years of related experience in Accounting/Finance
