As a Research Finance Analyst, you will perform monthly expense analysis for research activity within Cancer Research, developing action plans for identified variances in collaboration with principal investigators and the research management team. In this role, you will be responsible for budget development, invoicing, and contract negotiations.
A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m.
This position is primarily remote but requires on-site presence at the Main Campus in Cleveland, OH approximately 2–4 days per month.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform monthly research financial oversight and develop action plans for the variances and issues with investigators and research management.
Maintain current knowledge of research, financial policies and applications.
Monitor for compliance with policy.
Report any compliance issues to the research management team.
Provide ad hoc reports, reconcilements and schedule for management.
Responsible for budget development and oversight of research activities.
May negotiate budgets, contracts and business terms with external funding agencies.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field
Five years of experience in Accounting
Practical understanding of accounting and month-end closing cycle
Exceptional experience with financial accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Ability to navigate CMS website
Data/analytical experience
Excel, SQL and Snowflake experience
Strong analytical skills to interpret research protocols and develop accurate study budgets
Physical Requirements:
Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC.
Normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying of 5 to 15 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
