Research Engineer

Hedra is a pioneering generative media company backed by top investors at Index, A16Z, and Abstract Ventures. We're building Hedra Studio, a multimodal creation platform capable of control, emotion, and creative intelligence.

At the core of Hedra Studio is our Character-3 foundation model, the first omnimodal model in production. Character-3 jointly reasons across image, text, and audio for more intelligent video generation — it’s the next evolution of AI-driven content creation.

We are looking for an ML Engineer to join our team and work on the development and implementation of our machine learning models, with a focus on data processing and model testing. This role is ideal for recent graduates or professionals with some experience who are eager to learn and grow in the field of machine learning.

• Implement and test machine learning models under the guidance of senior team members, focusing on 3DVAE and video diffusion models.

• Assist in data preparation and preprocessing for model training, handling video datasets effectively.

• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in machine learning, such as new diffusion model architectures, to contribute to innovation.

• Contribute to the development of new features and improvements in our models, supporting team efforts.

• Work collaboratively with the team to achieve project goals, fostering a learning environment.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, suitable for early-career professionals.

• Some experience with machine learning projects, preferably in Python, reflecting hands-on skills.

• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, essential for model implementation.

• Strong programming skills and a passion for learning new technologies, aligning with startup dynamism.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, given the collaborative nature of the role.

• A willingness to take on new challenges and learn from them, ideal for a junior position.
