About you and this role
We are looking for you, an ambitious master’s student (m/f), to support our Polyurethane R&D/TS&D Department by doing an internship project in Polyurethane Binders Formulation for our location in ERSTEIN, FRANCE.

Project description
The field of application for this internship will be polyurethane (PU) prepolymer, specifically focusing on binder applications. PU binders are typically used to bond particles such as rubber granules, flexible foam, and other materials together. They play a significant role in the reuse of materials from end-of-life products or production scrap. Scope of the project is working on reducing the product carbon footprint of binders formulations.
You will be responsible for identifying raw materials with lower carbon footprint emissions and fit for the purpose. These materials will be tested by synthesizing prepolymers in the lab and evaluating their impact on the performance of the binders. Additionally, you will provide the necessary data for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analysis and document the results obtained from the experiments.

Qualifications
- You are currently studying for a Master degree or equivalent in Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry or similar.
- You have a good working knowledge of English and French
- You like lab work / hands-on
- You like teamwork, you demonstrate curiosity and take initiative
You can start in February 2025 for a period of 6 months (exact timing to be discussed).
