Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and highly organized Research Coordinator to support the administration, coordination, and development of the College’s research activities.
The role supports the day-to-day operations of the Research Unit, including research projects, ethical approval processes, research documentation, data management, faculty and student research activities, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty members, students, research supervisors, academic departments, and relevant internal and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient and compliant research operations.
Research Operations & Administration
- Coordinate the daily administrative activities of the Research Unit.
- Assist in preparing research proposals, ethics applications, and documentation for Institutional Review Boards (IRB).
- Maintain accurate research records, databases, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate research-related meetings, workshops, events, and activities.
- Prepare regular research reports and operational updates.
- Monitor ongoing research activities and follow up on required deliverables.
- Provide administrative and operational support to faculty members and students throughout research processes.
- Respond to research-related inquiries and guide researchers on required processes and documentation.
- Support data collection, data entry, and basic research analysis when required.
- Promote research activities and encourage faculty and student participation.
- Support research initiatives in accordance with institutional guidelines and ethical standards.
- Coordinate with academic departments, research supervisors, and institutional committees.
- Act as a liaison between researchers and supporting units, including laboratories, the Library, IT, and Quality & Accreditation.
- Facilitate communication with external research stakeholders, collaborators, and relevant organizations when required.
- Ensure research activities comply with institutional research policies, IRB requirements, and ethical procedures.
- Monitor the progress of ongoing research projects and follow up on required milestones and deliverables.
- Support the preparation of research-related documentation and evidence for accreditation purposes.
- Maintain confidentiality of research materials, data, and sensitive information.
- Organize research orientation sessions, training programs, workshops, and awareness activities.
- Provide first-line academic and administrative support to students undertaking research projects.
- Guide students toward appropriate research resources and escalate academic matters to research supervisors when necessary.
- Support strategic research initiatives and participate in institutional research activities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific, medical, health sciences, or research-related field.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred and considered an advantage.
- Additional training or certification in Research Methodology, Research Ethics, Clinical Research, or related areas is an advantage.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in research coordination, research administration, academic administration, or a related role.
- Previous experience supporting research projects, ethics/IRB applications, research documentation, or faculty and student research activities is preferred.
- Strong understanding of research processes, research ethics, and documentation requirements.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage research data, maintain accurate records, and support basic research analysis.
- Ability to coordinate multiple research projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and research management tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.

Skills Required
