Job Summary
Coordinates and provides oversight for various research related projects as assigned, working on large, multiple or multi-site projects that focus on a variety of topics related to health and healthcare services. Mentors and supervises staff conducting participant and data management activities, monitoring for compliance with protocol, regulatory and Denver Health policies. Research administration duties may include development of study and regulatory materials, protocols and procedures, supervision/training/coaching junior team members in research and protocol activities, and acting as the escalation point of contact for study team and participants. Financial management duties may include budget preparation, purchasing/contracting and monitoring expenditures against budget. Additional research duties may include conducting literature reviews, program/financial reporting, dissemination of results/publication, assisting with development and submission of grant proposals, and assisting with process improvement activities. Operations duties may include management and organization of facilities and unit needs, staff training and education support and assisting with process improvement activities.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates all research activities for large, multiple or multi-site projects, monitoring for compliance with protocol, regulatory and Denver Health policies. (20%)
- Confirms protocol eligibility and subject confidentiality, while treating participants with courtesy, dignity, empathy and respect though all verbal and non-verbal communications. (20%)
- Confirms data protections are in place in compliance with protocol, regulatory and Denver Health policies. (15%)
- Coordinates research administration activities, including development of study and regulatory materials, protocols and procedures, supervision/training/coaching junior team members in research and protocol activities, and acting as the escalation point of contact for study team and participants. (15%)
- Assists with financial administration activities, including budget preparation, purchasing/contracting and monitoring expenditures against budget. (10%)
- Additional duties may include conducting literature reviews, program reporting, dissemination of results/publication, assisting with development and submission of grant proposals, and assisting with process improvement activities. (10%)
- Builds and maintains good relationships with research teams, collaborators and colleagues, including coaching and training junior team members in research and protocol activities. (10%)
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED with 4-6 years of related experience Required or
- Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of related experience
Work Experience:
- 4-6 years or 1-3 years of related experience with Bachelor's Degree Required
Licenses:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with team and participants
- Must be comfortable working with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of protocol adherence, advanced research methods and rules of patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of database programs, advanced data analysis practices and synthesis of findings
- Knowledge of regulatory, financial, staff, and continuous improvement best practices.
- Knowledge of ‘full life cycle’ grant administration activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and step into a leadership role when needed.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across many audiences and mediums
