Job Summary

The Research Associate will play a key role in supporting the execution of CFHETS's research agenda, facilitating organization of data collection, coordinating with collaborators, and contributing directly to new primary research and publicly facing reports on these themes. This is a fixed-term, grant-funded appointment with potential for renewal based on continued funding and satisfactory performance. The position is full-time and benefits-eligible.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

This grant-funded research role supports three projects: Closing the Talent Data Gap; Assessing the Potential of AI and Hiring Managers; and Non-Degree Credentials: Motivations, Barriers, and the Business Case Beyond the HR Function.

  • Conduct primary and secondary research activities, including qualitative research engaging corporate leaders and national experts, literature reviews, competitive scanning, market analysis, and analytical writing.
  • Ensure timely completion of project milestones across all three research projects.
  • Coordinate faculty contributors and third-party consultants engaged in the research.
  • Define and support execution of a research dissemination strategy for project findings and publicly facing reports.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 4–5 years of related research experience in higher education, non-profit, or business settings.
  • Strong skills and experience in primary and secondary research.
  • Experience with interview-based research design and qualitative research techniques.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, writing, and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and organize projects to meet deadlines.
  • Creativity and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and similar content creation software.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Track record of delivering insightful answers to challenging questions and problems.
  • Research experience and interests aligned closely with the Center for the Future of Higher Education & Talent Strategy.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in an applied social sciences field (e.g., business, economics, education, public policy).

Expected Hiring Range:

$48,610.00 - $66,838.75

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
