The role

We are seeking a Research Associate – Power and Renewables (P&R) to join Wood Mackenzie’s Asia Pacific Power and Renewables research team based in India. As part of our rapidly expanding and highly respected global P&R team, you will contribute to industry-leading research on renewable technologies, including but not limited to - onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, energy storage, power markets, electric vehicles, and hydrogen. 

This role offers a broad scope of responsibilities, such as - gathering and analysing data related to renewable energy and power technologies, identifying market trends, and assisting in drafting reports and deliverables. Your work will contribute to cutting-edge research on global energy transition trends. Additionally, you will rotate through various data and research roles to gain exposure to the full value chain, focusing on areas such as battery storage revenue forecasting, power market modelling, investment analysis, policy assessment, and reviewing the competitive landscape.

Requirements

Qualification/Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, economics, engineering, science, or a similar background with 0-2 years of relevant experience.

• Strong quantitative skills and a passion for exploring challenging and complex topics.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

• Organized, with strong attention to detail and data analysis skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Knowledge & Skills:

• Familiarity with key technologies such as solar PV, wind (onshore and offshore), energy storage, electric vehicles, hydrogen, and other emerging technologies.

• Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data, with basic knowledge of data visualization and statistical tools. Familiarity with Excel or other data analysis tools

• Ability to conduct research, gather reliable data, and interpret findings. Understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods

• Ability to adapt to different research roles across the value chain, demonstrating flexibility and eagerness to learn about new areas
