Job Summary
The Research Associate will be an essential team member in active clinical research and/or quality improvement work being conducted at Denver Health (DHHA). Under supervision, the Research Associate conducts various research-related activities on projects that focus on a variety of topics related to health- and healthcare services. The Research Associate may be required to support multiple projects at different locations, such as the DHHA main campus, community clinics and urgent outpatient settings. To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess strong organizational skills, a desire for team improvement and growth, and robust interpersonal skills. The below responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature of this role and should not be construed as a holistic list. General responsibilities include subject-related activities, data collection, entry, and management, and data analysis, reporting, and dissemination. Additional duties may include assisting with literature reviews and regulatory submissions and acting as point of contact for study participants.
Essential Functions:

  • Conducts subject-related activities, such as screening and consenting for recruitment, conducting chart review, collecting samples, patient navigation and scheduling, performing subject interviews, facilitating focus groups and tracking outcomes. (15%)
  • Maintains clear, concise, and organized records. (15%)
  • Exercises confidentiality regarding patient and other sensitive information. (15%)
  • Ensures eligibility while treating participants with courtesy, dignity, empathy, and respect. (15%)
  • Acts as primary point of contact for study participants. Assists with data management activities, including collection and entry, and assessment for accuracy, integrity, and intervention fidelity. (10%)
  • Assists in database management, analysis and reporting, and disseminating results. (5%)
  • Performs literature reviews, which may include literature searches, organizing results and summarizing findings. (5%)
  • Assists with preparation and maintenance of all regulatory documentation. (5%)
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with research subjects, teams, collaborators, and colleagues. (5%)
  • Adheres to all protocol, policy, and regulatory requirements required to conduct human subjects research, including training requirements for COMIRB and CITI. (5%)
  • Remains aware of ways to improve team processes and brings them to leadership’s attention, aligning with DHHA’s Lean management principles. (5%)


Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s degree (or two years of related experience) strongly preferred.


Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years Research experience

    • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with investigators, staff, students and participants.
    • Must be comfortable working with diverse populations.
    • Sound organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Responsible and punctual individual.
    • Knowledge of the study to ensure adherence to all aspects of the study protocol.
    • Knowledge of protocol adherence and advanced research practices.
    • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for study protocols.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, learn research methods, and apply general research best practices.
    • Bilingual skills preferred.
