As a Research Assistant, you will support the implementation and conduct of human subject research projects, assisting with tasks such as scheduling study participants, collecting records, developing research tools, and coordinating study activities.

This research program focuses on improving quality of life following cancer surgery. Patient-centered care is at the heart of every project, with patients serving as active research partners who provide valuable input on study design and priorities. The team is deeply committed to enhancing the patient’s experience, making it the foundation of their research efforts. This role offers an excellent opportunity to expand your research skills while contributing to meaningful work that directly impacts patient care and outcomes.

A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Assist research team with research study related tasks. 

  • Assist with completion of protocol related activities. 

  • Obtain and maintain clinical competencies such as phlebotomy, vital signs, ECG, POC testing and other testing as required. 

  • Assist with the development and coordination of the research subject schedule in compliance with the research protocol. 

  • Assist with the collection, recording and maintenance of research study records. 

  • Demonstrate comprehension of assigned research protocols.   

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of research protocols to coordinate the comprehensive and compliant execution of assigned protocols. 

  • May assist in the development and maintenance of research tools, such as spreadsheets, questionnaires and/or brochures.  

  • Maintain study personnel certification records (License, CV, CITI). 

  • Establish and maintain filing systems.   

  • Order and stock supplies. 

  • Maintain professional relationships, including frequent and open effective communication with internal and external customers. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma/GED  

  • Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of computer-based skills, including Word processing, spreadsheets, and database and presentation software 

  • Understand basic concept of study design 

  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • One year of experience in a healthcare setting OR Bachelor’s Degree 

  • Knowledge of medical terminology 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

  • In some locations, ability to move up to 25 pounds

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
