Ellasot Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a reputable consumer Finance organization seeking a competent, detailed oriented Research Assistant to join its team.
The ideal candidate would be responsible for supporting the company in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting information that will contribute to business growth and informed decision-making.
The successful candidate will conduct research on markets, customers, competitors, industries, products, and emerging business opportunities. The role will involve collecting and validating data, preparing research reports, identifying trends, and presenting findings to management and relevant teams.
· Conduct primary and secondary research on relevant markets, industries, customers, and business opportunities.
· Research trends within the consumer finance, lending, SME, and financial services sectors.
· Gather, organize, and analyze data from reliable sources to support business decisions.
· Conduct competitor research and monitor competitors' products, pricing, customer segments, and market activities.
· Research potential customer segments, particularly traders, SMEs, and business owners.
· Assist in identifying new markets, customer acquisition opportunities, and potential business partnerships.
· Collect and analyze customer and market feedback to identify trends, needs, and opportunities.
· Prepare research reports, presentations, summaries, and recommendations for management.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date research databases and records.
· Verify information from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
· Track relevant economic, regulatory, and industry developments that may affect the company's operations.
· Support the preparation of periodic market and business intelligence reports.
· Assist other departments with research and data requirements when necessary.
· Develop surveys, questionnaires, and other research tools where required.
· Analyze research findings and translate data into clear and actionable insights.
· Perform other research-related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Finance, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
· 1–3 years of relevant research, data analysis, market research, business intelligence, or related experience is an advantage.
· Strong research and information-gathering skills.
· Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Ability to analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to prepare clear and well-structured reports and presentations.
· Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to identify reliable sources and verify information.
· Good organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
· Knowledge of financial services, lending, SMEs, or consumer finance is an advantage.
· Familiarity with research tools, Google Workspace, data visualization tools, or statistical software is an added advantage.
