Overview

DLH is seeking a Research Assistant to support the Network Coordinating Center (NCC) of the ACTG (Advancing Clinical Therapeutics Globally for HIV and Other Infections) network, one of the world's largest and longest-running clinical trials networks focused on HIV, other infectious diseases, and those living with them. This clinical trials network is led by some of the world’s leading experts in infectious disease and HIV/AIDS in the US and abroad.

This position will be responsible for a variety of word processing support for project staff, including formatting clinical trial protocol documents, protocol overviews to solicit clinical research site interest, newsletters, organizational charts, presentations, tables, listings, figures, spreadsheets, surveys, meeting agendas, and other documents. The Research Assistant will also help maintain the ACTG member website and support other administrative tasks. The Research Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and administration of tasks in accordance with specific objectives, and for ensuring quality and productivity standards are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Provide word processing support and document formatting support to project staff.
  • Help maintain the project website and portal to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information, organization, usefulness, and consistency throughout the ACTG member website. Assist with QC of information on the project website.
  • Upload draft and final protocols, reports, announcements, communications, and other documents to the project member website and internal DLH intranet.
  • Edit and post recordings and videos to the project member website.
  • Monitor project communications mailbox and distribute messages promptly and correctly to appropriate recipients.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the protocol summaries posted on the project public website.
  • Collate and format extensive session-specific agendas for project network meetings and retreats and assist with other meeting agendas, presentations, and materials as needed.
  • Monitor ClinicalTrials.gov to ensure that all applicable new protocols are posted on the website.
  • Support registration of new non-IND protocols and updating of existing non-IND protocols on ClinicalTrials.gov.
  • Provide backup and/or supplemental support for other task areas as needed.
  • Travel to in-person meetings (up to 5%).
  • May be assigned additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health or social sciences (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong preference for at least 1 year of experience directly related to clinical and/or public health research.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Microsoft Office Specialist Word certification preferred.
  • Works well individually and as part of a team under moderate to minimal supervision. 
  • Communicates effectively with staff and clients. 
  • Exhibits a high degree of flexibility, organization, and attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrates high competency in meeting deadlines for multiple and different tasks with competing priorities and a heavy workload. 
  • Experience in website/database systems is considered a plus.

Basic Compensation: $53,000 - $62,000 yearly salary

The salary range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The final offer may vary based on skills, experience, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity. Additional compensation may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. We do not use salary history to determine compensation, in line with applicable law.
