About the Role:Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) is offering the opportunity to gain scientific and operational experience in the world of biotechnology. Our intern program offers exposure from early-stage discovery all the way to clinical development. The RDSO team has a strong reputation in the industry for executing critical work and collaborating with many other functions.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Assist in driving R&D development programs through operational and organizational activities
  • Supports vendor contract process, including negotiation and generation and approval of contracts – Master Service Agreements (MSA) and Statement of Work (SOW) – for assigned R&D activities.
  • Ensures contract administration activities such as invoice tracking/reconciliation, change orders/amendments to SOWs, budget setting, and processing legal review of changes for external projects.
  • Working with external vendors and partners to ensure work is on time, on budget, and meeting the needs of the scientists
  • Interacting with scientific, finance, legal, and business development areas within the company
  • Collaborating with a mentor team of cross-functional team members as well as the other interns in the class
  • Completing a special project and presenting the recommendations to senior management upon completion
Requirements:
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree with an interest in biotechnology
  • Specific degree or field required: Life Sciences
  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry would be an asset but is not required
  • Familiarity with biopharmaceutical technologies, physical and life sciences, product development, and regulatory approval processes is desirable
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively and be a team player
  • Offer flexibility with a willingness to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Bring to the Company a skill set complementary to its technology and development therapeutics
  • Interest in attending various program events, including social gatherings, career development workshops, and more
  • Ability to commit to a 10-week, full-time summer program
