A Research Engineer I conducts research and development to solve engineering problems, conceive new medical products, and complete projects for a range of clinical needs. A Research Engineer I works under supervision to complete engineering projects.
Responsibilities• Utilize engineering knowledge and technical expertise to create new device solutions• Assist in the development of experiments, execution, analysis of results, and interpretation and reporting of results• Complete projects consistent with corporate and departmental objectives by engaging the efforts of other engineering, regulatory, and marketing staff• Contribute to the intellectual property of the company via invention disclosures and patent applications• Transfer concepts and methods to product development• Provide direction to engineering technicians• Maintain and increase technical, medical and biomedical development knowledge related to the company’s goals• Maintain accurate and timely reports and records
• Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization to achieve company goals• Must strictly adhere to safety requirements• Maintain regular and punctual attendance• Must maintain company quality and quantity standards• Must have effective oral and written communications throughout various levels of the global organization• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision• Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations

Qualifications- BS in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Science; or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background
- Experience using analytic skills and problem solving skills
- Experience in research and understanding of medical physiology
