Title: Research Analyst, Broadcast

Reports to: VP, Broadcast Research

Salary Range: $55K - $75K

Location: Flexible

 

 

Position Summary:

As part of our team of National Research Analysts, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate network programming data and audience estimates across Nexstar’s footprint of 200+ local television stations. You’ll work directly in our sales avail systems to ensure our programming catalog reflects evolving network schedules, helping power precise and effective advertising campaigns for our national and local sales teams. You will also collaborate closely with the VP, Broadcast Research to produce one-sheets, dashboards, audience trends, and other insights-driven materials that support sales strategy and performance. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented, data‑driven media professional who thrives in a collaborative environment.


Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain and update network prime and sports programming in sales avail systems such as WideOrbit Media Sales for Nexstar’s 200+ stations.

  • Build accurate audience estimates using historical performance and market-specific viewing trends.

  • Manage and distribute network programming recap reports to keep sales teams informed of schedule changes.

  • Create sales materials including one-sheets, dashboards, audience insights, and other research-driven collateral.

  • Partner closely with the VP, Broadcast Research to ensure sales teams have timely, actionable information.


About You:

·       Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (2+ years) in Marketing, Communications, English, or Statistics

·       2+ years of media research experience preferred

·       Significant knowledge of the local television marketplace and media campaigns

·       Experience in Wide Orbit Media Sales preferred but not required

·       Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

·       Problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills

·       Clear and concise communications both through writing & presentation skills

·       Organizational skills for daily responsibilities & special projects for sales and marketing team

·       Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment

·       Highly proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
