Summary:
Reuters is seeking a Research Analyst to support the research needs of Reuters publishing/ad sales and marketing staff. That data will come from various syndicated research sources and first-party research we subscribe to and capture from our audiences. This position is in the Integrated Marketing team and will report to the Research Manager. The analyst will work directly with the Reuters sales & marketing teams to fulfill client requests. It is important to think innovatively and be able to pull out the best narratives from different data sources, to find achieve the best sales outcomes for Reuters.
It is essential that candidates for this position be familiar with the following data sources: MRI-SIMMONS, Fusion, Ipsos, GWI, MARS, Media Radar, Google Analytics, and comScore. This role will also require the analyst to be comfortable interpreting complex data sets, presenting overall audience trends and stories, writing reports, and making actionable recommendations to the sales and marketing teams.
This position requires someone with a math aptitude, expertise of Excel, and proficiency with PowerPoint and Word. Must communicate clearly, be skilled at writing and work well with others. Attention to detail is essential.
About the Role
- Use research to create stories that articulate and demonstrate Reuters audience strength in reaching key demographics versus the international media competitive set.
- Analyse large data sets across different sources to draw trends and insights across key audiences.
- Collaborate with Audience Data Team to synthesize dashboards, reports, processes and incorporate additional data into sales/marketing recommendations
- Provide support within Data and Marketing to create effective materials to drive sales and assess current state of proposal / request procedures and continually recommend and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with the Research Manager and other teams across the organization to analyse and package 1st and 3rd party insights effectively for internal and external use.
- Work with Sales team to understand specific advertiser objectives and produce compelling research arguments that deliver against these need and demographics and help support proactive pitch proposals.
- Support the Sales team by analysing complex audience inquiries from clients and agencies, and provide detailed data analysis.
- Work with the Research Manager and the wider Integrated Marketing team to convert insights into persuasive communication messaging.
- Design, manage, analyze, and report on custom research projects spanning multiple industries and geographies (e.g. finance, tech, healthcare, etc.)
- Provide data and recommendations to identify campaign effectiveness measures and better engage our internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Manage research studies pre, during and post campaigns, developing questionnaires, running surveys, and delivering results.
- Ensure that each measurement project addresses the clients’ goals and is optimized for desired outcomes
- Collaborate closely with the Data & Insights team based in London and NY to gain an understanding of our first party research and explore how to incorporate it into insights and recommendations.
- Create reports on competitors’ branded content activity.
- Contribute to creating research collaterals that the wider sales and marketing team can use for proactive proposals
About you:
- 3+ years’ experience in audience and data analytics within the Media/Publishing industry.
- An interest in staying current on industry trends, technologies, and platforms.
- Experience with survey design techniques, data analysis, and running research projects end-to-end.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to create a compelling narrative from data-driven insights.
- Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent storytelling, communications (written and verbal), and presentation skills.
- A collaborative spirit, working well in a team.
