Job Description

LDC is looking for an Associate Research Analyst in to join the Research team under cotton platform who will be solely responsible for primary and secondary data collection and participating crop production analyses , share production related aspects and trend analysis to the business and contribute towards effective business results.

Main Responsibilities: 

  1. Supervise and enhance research methodologies for crop estimation and strategy, ensuring continuous review based on observations from crop tours.
  2. Regularly update and maintain databases and time-series data, contributing to the development and refinement of research methodologies and strategies.
  3. Collect and evaluate primary and secondary data, performing sanity checks on databases and external sources to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  4. Develop automation tools using macros, Power Pivot, and dashboards to make data updates swift and efficient.
  5. Identify risks to crop estimates by modeling various scenarios and assessing their potential impact.
  6. Monitor crop development regularly using agronomic and statistical tools.
  7. Demonstrate strong analytical skills to detect errors, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.
  8. Collaborate effectively within the team to ensure collective objectives are met.
  9. Communicate findings clearly through well-structured and evidence-based crop tour reports.
  10. Build industry connections to understand market behavior and obtain real-time crop insights

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in agriculture, Agri Business Administration, Agri Economics, Agri Statistics

Additional Information

Experience

  • Preferably 5 to 8 years with the right skill sets
  • Strong working knowledge in MS office, Power BI etc.
  • Possess strong analytical & statistical skills.
  • Business presentation skills in English (written and spoken)
  • Willing to travel upcountry on regular basis for crop tours and to supervise the implementation of crop estimation methodology
  • Knowing Python or Coding skills is advantage

Languages:

  • English, Hindi, Kannada &Tamil (Hindi is must and Combination of any two South Languages)

Skills Required

  • Master's degree in Agriculture, Agri Business Administration, Agri Economics, or Agri Statistics
  • 5 to 8 years relevant experience in research/crop analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office and Power BI
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills
  • Business presentation skills in English (written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel regularly for crop tours and field supervision
  • Proficiency in Hindi and combination of two South Indian languages (e.g., Kannada, Tamil)
