Overview
ISS STOXX is growing! We seek a Research Analyst to join our Global Research team based in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, your focus is on corporate governance research- to translate and summarize Japanese shareholder proposals, and corporate incident news into English, and extract information from disclosures to issue vote recommendations for Japanese shareholder meetings.
Responsibilities
Summarize details of shareholder proposals (original in Japanese) into English
Prepare English summary of various corporate incident news
Extract corporate governance information from proxy materials and other disclosures to issue vote recommendations based on ISS' policy guidelines
Maintain up to date knowledge, understanding of board, compensation, and shareholder rights issues
Maintain, update, and create various operational tools and systems
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree graduate
Strong writing and reading skills in Japanese and English
Interests in corporate governance, shareholder issues, or proxy voting issues
Intermediate proficiency or interest in learning formulas and functions in Microsoft Excel and other tools
Able to work independently and in a team environment, as well as under tight deadlines
Amenable with a hybrid work arrangement- 3 days in the office and 2 days' work from home per week
Amenable to working extended hours during the proxy seasons (overtime and weekend work during the months of February, March, May, and June)
