Position Overview:

We are seeking a Research Analyst to own investor education and research communication within the Research & Data Products team. This person will sit at the intersection of art market research and investor communication, translating proprietary data and analysis into accessible, compelling content for a general investor audience.

Team Overview:

The research team consists of the following functions:

  1. Data Infrastructure & Reporting - responsible for owning data pipelines, database architecture, and analytical reporting.
  2. Data Quality & Operations - owns the integrity of the underlying auction dataset, including repeat-sale pair construction, currency conversion logic, buyer's premium separation, and auction house coverage QA.
  3. Quantitative Modeling & ML - index construction, artist ranking models, momentum and acceleration signals, and predictive feature development.
  4. Content & Markets - owns investor education content, ideation, and editorial output.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the editorial calendar and content pipeline for Masterworks Academy, covering art market education, investing concepts, and platform features
  • Write, edit, and publish articles, explainers, guides, and FAQs for prospective and current investors across web and email channels
  • Translate research outputs (repeat-sale returns, index data, auction analysis) into accessible content for a general investor audience
  • Develop data-driven editorial pieces tied to major auction events at Sotheby's, Christie's, and Phillips
  • Support social media content production including post copy, carousels, and data visualizations sourced from internal research
  • Establish an ongoing feedback loop with the Head of Research to align content with broader research priorities

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in content, editorial, journalism, or a related field; finance, economics, or art writing is a strong plus
  • Strong written communication, with the ability to make complex research outputs readable for a general audience
  • Genuine interest in financial markets, alternative assets, or the art world
  • Basic data literacy (reading charts, interpreting returns, understanding indices)
  • Organized and self-directed; able to manage multiple content workstreams without close supervision
  • Experience with CMS platforms, social scheduling tools, or email marketing platforms is helpful

Measurements of Success in First 90 Days:

  • Publish a minimum of 8-10 Academy articles with measurable engagement, establishing a consistent editorial cadence
  • Build a social content pipeline producing at least 2 research-backed posts per week in coordination with the Research team
  • Develop a forward-looking content calendar through year-end aligned with major auction seasons and research output

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in the NYC office 5 days per week
  • Must be eligible to work in the US - no exceptions

Compensation Range: $70-90k
