The Opportunity

Downer’s Energy & Utilities business is seeking a motivated and analytical Reporting & Data Analyst to join our People & Culture team on a 14-month contract. Reporting to the P&C Projects, Remuneration and Data Governance Manager, this role will play a key part in delivering workforce insights that support strategic decision-making across the business.
 

Based within our national People & Culture function, you will work across a broad range of P&C activities including reporting, remuneration analysis, data visualisation, workforce trends, data governance, and people-focused projects. Working with complex datasets across multiple systems, you'll transform data into meaningful insights, helping drive continuous improvement and informed business decisions.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong analytical capability who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to contribute to the success of a large, leading infrastructure organisation.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyse and interpret P&C data from multiple sources to identify trends, provide insights, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualisations using Power BI, Excel, and other analytics tools.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and governance of workforce and remuneration data.
  • Contribute to P&C projects involving systems, processes, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is data-driven, curious, and passionate about turning information into actionable insights.

  • Qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in a reporting, analytics, or data-focused role.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar data analytics tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
